Lawn Bowls

As well as Croquet, the lawns of the CERN Croquet Club are also available for playing Lawn Bowls. The Lawn Bowls section meets every Wednesday morning during the season (Spring to October or November depending on weather) from 10am to midday and newcomers are very welcome to come along and try this International sport. We have a number of sets of bowls of varying sizes and weights to suit everyone and personal tuition is available if needed, although the basics are pretty simple to get you started.

Note that membership of the club gives you access to any of the activities offered by any section and the lawns are available to everyone for any of the sports (croquet, lawn bowls or gateball) except during the reserved periods for each section – see the weekly schedule under “About Us” on the club’s home page.

As well as Lawn Bowls, the section organises occasional social activities and regular sports events during the winter months.
